About Dooars Dooars is a region in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. The name is a corruption of the word "duars", the Bengali word for "gateway".
The region comprises the three districts of Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Darjeeling. It is home to the Bengal tiger, Indian rhinoceros, and other animals.
The Dooars region is well known for its tea plantations.
