Odeon of Herodes Atticus

The Athens Odeon of Herodes Atticus is an ancient stone theatre located in the southwestern foothills of the Acropolis of Athens. It was built in 161 AD by Herodes Atticus, a Roman senator, philanthropist, and admirer of Greek culture. It is one of the few structures from the Roman era in Athens that has survived until today. The Odeon was used as a venue for music and poetry performances. It is also the site of the Athens Festival, which is held every summer and features a variety of music, dance, and theatre performances.
