Memento Park

Budapest Memento Park is a cemetery and museum in Budapest, Hungary, dedicated to the memory of those who suffered and died during the Soviet occupation of Hungary. The park is located in the City of Buda, on the Buda Hills, and contains the remains of Soviet soldiers and Hungarian freedom fighters killed during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The park was opened in 1991, and contains a museum and a cemetery. The museum is dedicated to the memory of those who suffered and died during the Soviet occupation of Hungary, and contains exhibits on the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, the Soviet invasion of Hungary, and the occupation of Hungary by the Soviet Union. The cemetery contains the remains of Soviet soldiers and Hungarian freedom fighters killed during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The park is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Admission is free.
