Thirathen Museum

The Thirathen Museum is one of Crete’s most interesting and well-known museums. It is located in the town of Rethymnon, on the north coast of the island. The museum is housed in a Venetian fortress, which was built in the 15th century. The fortress is called the Fortezza, and it is located in the town’s main square. The Thirathen Museum is dedicated to the history and culture of the region. It contains exhibits on the Minoan civilization, as well as on the history of Rethymnon and the surrounding area. The museum also contains a large collection of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and pottery. The Thirathen Museum is open every day from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Admission is €3.00 for adults, and €1.50 for children.
