Museum of the History of Science The Museum of the History of Science is a museum in Florence, Italy, which houses a collection of scientific instruments from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. It is housed in the Palazzo Castellani, an early-Renaissance building which was extensively restored in the 1980s. The museum is open every day except Sunday and public holidays. Admission is free. The museum contains a large collection of scientific instruments from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. These include astrolabes, quadrants, sundials, compasses, telescopes, barometers, and thermometers. There is also a collection of early clocks, including a turret clock from the 14th century. The museum also contains a collection of medical instruments, including a collection of surgical tools from the 16th century.
