The Kargil Lamayuru Monastery is a Buddhist monastery located in the Ladakh region of northern India. The monastery is situated in the village of Lamayuru, about 125 km from the town of Leh.
The monastery was founded in the 10th century by the Kashmiri yogi Naropa. The main attraction of the monastery is the cave where Naropa is said to have meditated for 12 years.
