The Mahasu Peak is a mountain located in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, India. At an altitude of 2,624 metres (8,601 ft), it is the second-highest peak in the state after the Nanda Devi. The Mahasu Peak is a popular destination for trekkers and climbers, and is part of the Pabbar Valley trek. The best way to reach the Mahasu Peak is to travel to the town of Kufri, located in the Shimla district. Kufri is a popular tourist destination and is well-connected to other parts of the state by road. From Kufri, there are a number of trekking routes to the Mahasu Peak. The most popular route is a 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) trek that ascends through the forests of the Mahasu Wildlife Sanctuary. The trek can be completed in a day, but is more commonly done as a two-day trek. The summit of the Mahasu Peak offers stunning views of the Himalayas.
