Dubare Elephant Training Camp

The Dubare Elephant Training Camp is a government-run elephant training facility in the town of Dubare in Karnataka, southern India. The camp is located on the banks of the Kaveri River, close to the border with the state of Tamil Nadu. The camp was set up in 1987 to train captive elephants for use in the timber industry and in tourism. It is now home to around 60 elephants, most of which are used in tourist activities such as giving rides and participating in shows. The Dubare Elephant Training Camp is open to visitors from 9am to 5pm. There is an admission fee of Rs. 100 (around US$1.50) for adults and Rs. 50 (around US$0.75) for children.
