The present temple, dating from the 15th century, was built on the spot where Hidimbi is said to have performed her austerities. The temple is surrounded by forest, and is set in a small clearing. It is a three-storey wooden structure, with a pagoda-like roof. The temple is intricately carved, with images of gods and goddesses, as well as scenes from the Mahabharata. The Hadimba Temple is a popular tourist attraction, and is especially popular with Hindu pilgrims.
