Manali Sanctuary

Manali Sanctuary

Manali Sanctuary is located in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh, in north-west India. The sanctuary is situated at an altitude of about 1,700 metres (5,580 feet) and is spread over an area of about 116 square kilometres (45 square miles). The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including Himalayan black bears, brown bears, leopards, wolves, and deer.
The sanctuary was established in 1952, and it was first known as the “Kullu Forest Reserve”. In 1984, it was renamed the “Manali Sanctuary”. The sanctuary is open to the public from mid-April to mid-November.
The main attraction of the Manali Sanctuary is the Himalayan black bear. These bears are the largest of the eight species of bears found in India, and they are found only in the Himalayan region. The Himalayan black bear is a shy and timid creature, and it is rarely seen by humans. However, there is a good chance of seeing these bears at the sanctuary, as they are known to visit the tourist areas in search of food.

The other main attraction of the sanctuary is the leopard. These big cats are found in many parts of the world, but they are rare in India. The leopard is a very agile and powerful animal, and it is capable of taking down prey much larger than itself. The leopards of the Manali Sanctuary are considered to be some of the most beautiful in the world, and they are a popular tourist attraction.
The sanctuary is also home to a variety of other animals, including Himalayan brown bears, wolves, and deer. These animals can be seen while hiking in the sanctuary’s many forests and meadows.
The Manali Sanctuary is a beautiful and peaceful place, and it is a great place to visit if you want to see some of the wildlife of the Himalayas.
