Samstanling Monastery

Samstanling Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, northern India. The monastery is located in the Diskit subdistrict of Nubra Valley, close to the village of Hunder. The monastery was founded in the late 17th century by Lama Lhawang Loden, and is home to around 100 monks. The monastery is noted for its collection of thangkas, and for its annual festival, held in October, which features a masked dance drama. Samstanling Monastery is open to visitors from 9am to 5pm.
