Pataleshwar Cave Temple

The etymology of the Pataleshwar temple is not definitively known. However, there are several popular theories about the temple's name. One theory suggests that the temple was originally dedicated to the Hindu god Pataleshwar, the lord of the underworld. Another theory suggests that the temple was named after the Patal Bhuvaneshwar Mahadev temple, which is located in the Patal Bhuvaneshwar region of India.

The temple is said to be around 1,500 years old. It is said that the temple was originally built by the Peshwas.
