Somnath temple is situated in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. It is one of the most revered temples of Lord Shiva in India. The temple is known for its architectural brilliance and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
The temple is believed to have been built in the 7th century by the Somnath Maharaja. The temple has been destroyed and rebuilt many times in the past. The present temple was rebuilt in the 1950s.
The temple is open from 6am to 9pm.
