Spanish Riding School (Spanische Hofreitschule)

The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is one of the oldest and most famous classical riding schools in the world. The school was founded in the 16th century by Emperor Maximilian I and is the only institution in the world that still trains classical riders in the art of the "High School" (Haute Ecole) of classical equitation. The Spanish Riding School is located in the Hofburg Palace in Vienna. The school offers public performances throughout the year, and visitors can watch the horses and riders training in the morning.
