Xi'an Big Goose Pagoda is a Buddhist pagoda located in the southern Xian City, Shaanxi Province, China. The pagoda was built in 652 AD during the Tang Dynasty and has a height of 64 meters. It is the tallest pre-modern building in Shaanxi Province. The pagoda was originally built to store Buddhist scriptures and relics. The pagoda is named "Big Goose Pagoda" because it is said that a flock of geese landed on the roof and made a lot of noise. The pagoda has undergone many repairs and renovations over the years. The most recent renovation was in 1983. The pagoda is open to tourists and has a museum on the premises.
