The site was excavated by the German Archaeological Institute from 1906 to 1911. The Hattusha ruins are open to the public. There is an admission fee. There is a museum on the site which exhibits artifacts from the city. The best way to get to Hattusha from Ankara is to take a bus to Çorum and then take a taxi to the ruins.
