It can accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ankara. The mosque is named after the Kocatepe Hill, which is located adjacent to it. The hill is thought to be the site of the ancient Roman city of Ancyra. The mosque is built in the classical Ottoman style, with a large central dome and four minarets. It is decorated with intricate mosaics and carvings, and the interior is decorated with marble and gold leaf. The mosque is open to visitors from 8am to 5pm. Admission is free.
