Upper Lake

Bhopal Upper Lake, also known as the Bada Talab, is a man-made lake in the heart of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, India. It was built by the Sultan of Bhopal, Nawab Shah Jahan Begum, in 1842. The Upper Lake is the larger of the two lakes in Bhopal, and is spread over an area of . The lake has a maximum depth of and a catchment area of . It is the main source of water for the residents of Bhopal. The Upper Lake is a tourist attraction, and a number of tourist facilities, including a boat club, have been developed around it. It is also a popular spot for fishing.
