Confluence Of Bhagirathi And Alaknanda

The confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers is one of the holiest places in India for Hindus. It is located in the Himalayan foothills in the state of Uttarakhand, and is known as Devprayag. The site is said to be the place where the gods gathered to decide on the fate of the human race. The waters of the two rivers are considered to be especially holy, and pilgrims come to bathe in them to cleanse their sins. The area is also home to a number of temples, including the ancient temple of Rishikesh.
