The Shaheed Minar was erected in the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Manipur. It is located in the heart of Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. The monument was designed by Manipur’s most renowned architect, I. Ahmed. The Shaheed Minar was inaugurated by the then Governor of Manipur, Dr. S.K. Sinha on 23rd January, 1968.
