The Shankaracharya Temple

The Shankaracharya Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in the city of Srinagar in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The temple is dedicated to the philosopher Shankaracharya and is one of the most important temples in the Kashmir Valley.

 

The Shankaracharya Temple was built in the 8th century by the king Avantivarman. The temple is a large, three-story structure with a copper-plated roof. The temple is decorated with carvings of Hindu gods and goddesses. The temple is a popular pilgrimage destination and is visited by thousands of Hindu pilgrims every year.
