Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary

The Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is a well known bird sanctuary located in Kochi, Kerala, India. It is situated in the Mattancherry area of Kochi and is spread over an area of 10 hectares. The bird sanctuary was established in the year 1984 and is home to a large number of birds, including the painted stork, black-necked stork, Asian openbill stork, and Asian glossy starling.

The Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. There are over 250 species of birds that call the sanctuary home, as well as a variety of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. The sanctuary is also home to a wide variety of trees and plants, including mangroves and other wetland species.

The best time to visit Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is during winter, from December to February.
