Trekking

Kotagiri is a small hill station in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. It is situated at an altitude of 1,839 metres and is surrounded by tea plantations and forest. Kotagiri is well known for its trekking trails and is a popular destination for hikers. There are a number of trekking trails in and around Kotagiri. The most popular trails are the Ralamandal trek, the Sirumalai trek and the Doddabetta trek. The Ralamandal trek is a 12 kilometre trek that leads to the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, tigers, leopards and deer. The Sirumalai trek is a 12 kilometre trek that leads to the Sirumalai Hills. The hills are a popular tourist destination and offer stunning views of the Nilgiris Mountains. The Doddabetta trek is an 8 kilometre trek that leads to the Doddabetta Peak. The peak is the highest point in the Nilgiris and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
