Palacio Real

The Palacio Real (Royal Palace) in Madrid is the largest palace in Europe, and one of the largest in the world. It is also the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family. The palace was built in the 18th century on the orders of King Philip V, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace is open to the public, and visitors can tour its many rooms and gardens. Highlights include the Throne Room, the Hall of Mirrors, and the Royal Armory. There is also a museum on the palace grounds, which exhibits paintings, sculptures, and other works of art from the Royal Collection.
