The site is named after the ancient Greek city of Pausilypon, which was located on the slopes of the hill where the site is now located. The site is a large archaeological park, which includes the remains of the ancient Greek city of Pausilypon, as well as the remains of other ancient settlements and structures. The site is open to the public, and there is a small museum on site which displays some of the finds from the site.
