Nizamabad is a city and district headquarters in the Indian state of Telangana. It is located in Nizamabad district, about 150 km northeast of Hyderabad. As of 2011 census, the city population was 557,884.
The district is bounded by the districts of Medak to the west, Karimnagar to the north, Adilabad to the northeast, and Nanded to the east.
