It is the largest museum in the state.The museum was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Bihar, Rabri Devi, on 14 December 2001. The Bihar Museum has on display a rich collection of sculptures, paintings, coins, manuscripts, and other artefacts from the ancient and medieval periods of Indian history.
