Japanese Stupa

The Rajgir Japanese Stupa is a Buddhist shrine located in the town of Rajgir in the Indian state of Bihar. The shrine is dedicated to the Japanese monk and teacher, Nichiren (1222-1282), and is the only such shrine in India. The stupa was built in 1992 by the Nichiren Shoshu order of Buddhism. The shrine is located on a hill overlooking the town of Rajgir.
