Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Rudra Prayag is a small town that is known for its religious importance. The town is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and the Bhagirathi rivers and is considered to be one of the holiest places in India. The Kumbh Mela is held here every 12 years and is attended by millions of pilgrims. There are a number of temples in Rudra Prayag, the most famous of which is the Rudra Mahadev Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is said to be one of the most sacred places in India. Other temples in the town include the Triveni Sangam Temple, the Kal Bhairav Temple, and the Hanuman Temple. Rudra Prayag is also a popular destination for trekkers. There are a number of trekking routes in the area, including the popular Rishikesh-Gangotri-Badrinath trek.
