Prayag is a small town in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is located at an altitude of 1,890 meters (6,217 feet).
Rudra Prayag is located on the banks of the River Alaknanda, one of the main tributaries of the River Ganges. It is located at the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauli Ganga.
Rudra Prayag is one of the four Panch Prayag (confluence of five rivers), the other three being Prayag Raj (confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna), Triveni Sangam (confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers), and Dev Prayag (confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers).
Rudra Prayag is located close to the Hindu holy sites of Badrinath and Kedarnath.
