China Bhavan

Santiniketan China Bhavan is a building in the city of Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located at 5, Park Street. The building is the headquarters of the Santiniketan China Bhavan, a cultural organisation which promotes cultural ties between India and China. It was established in 1963 by Chinmoy Kumar Ghose, a noted Indian artist and a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. The building was designed by the Indian architect Achyut Kanvinde. It is a four-storeyed structure with a central courtyard. The building is decorated with traditional Chinese motifs. The Santiniketan China Bhavan organises cultural exhibitions, seminars, and workshops to promote cultural exchange between India and China. It also publishes a magazine, "China India". The building is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
