The Undavalli Caves are a series of caves located in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The caves are situated on the southern banks of the River Krishna, 8 km from the city of Vijayawada. The caves are a popular tourist destination and are also an important archaeological site. The caves were carved out of the granite hillock and are divided into three levels. The lowest level is the largest and consists of a pillared hall with a sanctum at one end. The middle level has a small pillared hall and the upper level has a small chamber. The caves are believed to have been carved out in the 5th century A.D. by the Vishnukundins, a dynasty of the Satavahana empire.
