Andhra Pradesh is a state in the southern part of India. It is bordered by the states of Tamil Nadu to the south, Karnataka to the southwest, and Telangana to the west. The state has a coastline of 974 km (605 mi) along the Bay of Bengal. The state is divided into two regions, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The capital of the state is Amaravati, which is located in the Guntur district.
