Yamunotri is a Hindu pilgrimage site and one of the four sites in the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage circuit. The shrine is dedicated to the Goddess Yamuna and is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. The other three sites in the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage circuit are Gangotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath.
The Yamunotri temple is situated at an altitude of 3,293 metres (10,810 ft), on the left bank of the Yamuna River. The original temple was destroyed by an earthquake in 1819 and was rebuilt in 1838. The temple is open from April to October.
