The Emerald Lake is a reservoir located in the Yercaud hills, in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu, India. The lake is situated at an altitude of 1,732 metres (5,680 ft) and is spread over an area of 64 hectares (160 acres). It is the main source of water for the towns of Yercaud and Shevapet.
The lake is named after its emerald-green waters. It is a popular tourist destination, and is surrounded by forests and hills. Boating and fishing are popular activities at the lake.
