Lal Bazaar

Almora is a small town in the Kumaon Hills of Uttarakhand state, India. It is the headquarters of the Almora district. Almora is located on a ridge at an altitude of 1,650 meters (5,410 feet). The name "Almora" is derived from the Kumaoni word "alam" meaning "pillar" and "aura" meaning "place", thus meaning "the place of pillars". The Almora Bazaar is a very popular market in the town. It is located in the heart of the town and is a major shopping destination for the locals. The bazaar is famous for its handicrafts, woollens, and local produce.
