Amarkantak is a small town in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is located on the banks of the Narmada River. The town is considered holy by Hindus and is a popular pilgrimage site. Amarkantak is also home to the Narmada Parikrama, a pilgrimage that is undertaken by Hindus who wish to circumnavigate the entire Narmada River. The Narmada Parikrama is a journey that covers a distance of approximately 1,000 kilometers and takes approximately two months to complete.
