24. Nikolaiviertel, Berlin
ikolaiviertel is a historic district in the Mitte borough of Berlin. It is located along the Spree River, immediately east of the Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral) and the Fernsehturm (TV Tower).
The Nikolaiviertel was first settled in the 13th century by German merchants. It was named after the Church of St. Nicholas (Nikolaikirche), which was built in 1230. The Nikolaiviertel was heavily damaged in World War II, but has been restored since then.
