Brandenburg Tor

Brandenburg Tor

The Berlin Brandenburg Gate is a neoclassical triumphal arch located in Berlin, Germany. It is one of the city's most famous landmarks and a symbol of the reunification of Germany. The gate was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace and was built between 1788 and 1791. After the Prussian defeat in the Napoleonic Wars, the gate was damaged and later reconstructed. The gate was again damaged in World War II, but was rebuilt and reopened in 1961.
