Bikaner is a city in the northwest of the state of Rajasthan, India. It is located 334 kilometres (207 mi) northwest of the state capital, Jaipur. The city was founded by Rao Bika in 1488. Bikaner is well known for its camel safaris. The Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace, and Gajner Palace are important tourist destinations in the city. Kote Gate is one of the gates of the Junagarh Fort in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. The fort was built by Raja Rai Singh in 1593, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
