Maritime Museum of Crete

The museum is housed in a Venetian building, which was used as the customs office from the 16th to the 18th centuries. It was renovated and opened to the public as a museum in 1972. The museum's collection consists of maritime objects from the ancient to the modern era, including a large collection of ship models. The museum also houses a collection of coins, including a rare collection of coins from the island of Karpathos.
