Ukhimath is a small town located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is situated at an altitude of 1,860 metres (6,102 feet) and is around 50 kilometres (31 miles) from Rudraprayag.
The town is known for its temple of Lord Shiva, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is also known as the Kedarnath of the south.
Ukhimath is also home to the Ukhimath Winter University, which is the only university in India that is open during the winter months.
