7. Padmanabhapuram Palace
Padmanabhapuram Palace, also known as the Kanyakumari Padmanabhapuram Palace, is a palace in the town of Padmanabhapuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the palace of the erstwhile Travancore royal family. The palace is situated on the banks of the River Pamba, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace was built in the 16th century by the first king of the Travancore royal family, Maharaja Marthanda Varma. It is a traditional Kerala-style palace, and is made of wood and granite. The palace has a number of galleries, including a Hall of Mirrors. The palace is also home to a number of valuable artefacts, including a gold crown and a sword of Tipu Sultan. The palace is open to the public, and is a popular tourist attraction.
