Lord Subramanya Temple

Kanyakumari is a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the southernmost tip of the Indian mainland, located at the confluence of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean. Kanyakumari is known as the "Land's End" and is a popular tourist destination. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Murugan. It is one of the six major temples in South India dedicated to the deity. The temple is located on a small hill in the town and commands a panoramic view of the ocean and the Vivekananda Rock. The temple has a six-tiered gopuram and a golden vimana. The temple is open from 6am to 10pm. The temple is believed to have been built by the Pandyan king Kulasekara Pandyan I in the 8th century CE. The temple has been renovated and expanded several times in the past. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
