The Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh is located in the north-eastern part of the state. The district is administratively divided into two tehsils, Reckong Peo and Kalpa. The Reckong Peo tehsil is further divided into nine blocks, namely, Kalpa, Kothi, Nichar, Nichar-Bhatti, Pooh, Sumdo, Tapri, Wangtoo, and Yangthang. The Kalpa tehsil is divided into six blocks, namely, Chitkul, Kaza, Keylong, Losar, Maling, and Sagnam.
The district has a total population of 101,668, of which 51,711 are males and 49,957 are females. There are a total of 20,853 households in the district.
