Prophet Elias Monastery

Elias Monastery is a Byzantine monastery located on the slopes of Mount Prophet Elias on the island of Santorini. The monastery was founded in the 9th century and is dedicated to the prophet Elias. The monastery has been extensively damaged and rebuilt over the centuries, and the present building dates from the 18th century. The monastery is open to the public and contains a small museum with exhibits of religious art.
