Keladi

The town of Shimoga is located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka state, India. It is situated on the banks of the Tunga River and is the administrative headquarters of the district. Shimoga is known as the "Gateway to the Malnad" region. The town is a major center for the production of sandalwood oil. It is also a major center for the manufacture of plywood and other forest products. Shimoga is connected to the city of Bangalore by road and rail. The town is also connected to the city of Mangalore by road.
