Trekking

Sonamarg is a small town situated in the Kashmir Valley, at a height of 8,000 ft (2,438 m). It is located on the banks of the Sind River, a tributary of the Jhelum River. The town is surrounded by high mountains, including the Harmukh and Nanga Parbat massifs. It is a popular tourist destination, with many visitors coming to enjoy the natural scenery and the winter sports. The Sonamarg trekking route starts from the town and leads through the Zoji La Pass, at an altitude of 11,578 ft (3,528 m), to the Ladakh region.
