Mela Tiruvenkatanathapuram Temple

The Tirunelveli Mela Tiruvenkatanathapuram Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. It is located in the town of Tiruvenkatanathapuram, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The temple is one of the six major Shiva temples of Tamil Nadu known as "Pancha Bhoota Stalams", and is considered the most important one of them. It is said to have been founded by the sage Agastya. The temple is a significant pilgrimage destination, and is visited by large numbers of devotees during the annual festival held in honour of Shiva, the Maha Shivaratri.
